The Shard

Again this year we returned with the Shard garden, but this time there was a slight twist; we collaborated with Grow Wild, the UK’s biggest wild flower campaign, bringing people together to transform local and urban spaces with wild flowers and plants. Grow Wild created a space within the garden where they would plant every other day with children and visitors to the garden, with some receiving free Grow Wild seeds and an information pack.

Throughout the garden it took to complete, 8,500 litres of soil, around 1,600 flowers/plants, 6 trees, 770 man hours, 4 kg of water saving crystals, 4 kg of slow release plant food, uncountable amounts of lifts of water cans from the 68th floor to the 72nd and around 27 bags of Haribo consumed – maybe more!
