Christmas at Barbican Center

The Barbican Center

Barbican approached Planarama to design, produce and install a display which wasn’t necessarily Christmas themed but could be a loose interpretation of Christmas. With the brief being to use stunning golden tones, 1920s art deco inspiration and some sort of lighting element, we knew this project would be right up our street.

Using the idea of a broken snowflake in shape but still connected, our design team came up with the following display and it just takes your breath away; the sharp lines mixed with the soft focusing LED bouncing light off the muted gold really sits well in the brutalist home of Barbican.

Over the light-well towards to Atrium you can see a larger sculpture which hangs from the ceiling and ever so slightly turns, creating a stunning display worthy of Christmas and Winter!
